KidKraft uses premium FSC Cedar (Cunninghamia Lanceolata) lumber. Cunninghamia Lanceolata is naturally resistant to rot and insect infestation, minimising damage caused by nature compared to other woods. Our wood is sanded and has eased edges (rounded) to prevent splintering. It is also kiln dried to ensure that it is properly dried to limit excess warping and cracking. The wood selected for use in our play sets is a higher-grade wood than fence and deck lumber to ensure the quality we expect from our products.

Care: A yearly application of a water sealant (such as Thompson Water Sealant) will help maintain the wood used in our play system. This will also protect your play system against the different elements. We suggest that a weather protectant be applied 3 months after assembly, rather than immediately to allow the wood to age. Please note: We do not recommend using an oil-based product.
